09 Apr The land of gods #tastetheworld
We believe the world isn’t just a place to visit. It’s a place to live in, to taste, to appreciate. But with borders closed, the world becomes small and we lose our sense of wonder. And while international travel might be off the cards for now, we’ve got you covered all through 2021, bringing the sights, sounds and smells of the world to you, right here in Townsville.
Journey beyond your four walls with a culinary passport to enjoy a curated selection of gourmet foods and themed events, as we visit 12 of our favourite countries, one for each month of the year. So join us here at Otto’s, as we strive to keep ticking off the bucket list and #tastetheworld!

From home-made moussaka to fresh fish and calamari, or delicious souvlaki kebabs that taste like nowhere else in the world… who doesn’t love Greek food?
This month, we are celebrating the 45th anniversary of Otto’s Fish Market rockstars Kon and Effie Piliouras, famous for their fresh fish, perfectly hand cut chips and incredible traditional Greek calamari. Kon and Effie are true teachers of the lesson that the simplest ingredients are the best ones, and that you need nothing more than freshness, simplicity and a dash of passion to have a feast at the table.
And speaking of feasts, be sure to join us on April 24 for our Greek Long Lunch mezzanine event! Any meal time in Greece is a big event, and this one will be no different. Keep an eye out for further information and be sure to grab your tickets to avoid missing out on traditional Greek cuisine such as braised lamb, split prawns and more (all paired with incredible wines).
